Horological Meandering

Spent two days in central Oregon with Keaton Myrick. Surrounded by incredibly beautiful landscapes with snow cap mountains and rushing rivers, Keaton lives and works.

He is one of a very few watchmakers in the US that is producing his own watch.

Keaton's knowledge of watches and watchmaking is only surpassed by his enthusiasm for the field.

I have had the pleasure to meet quite a number of watchmakera over the years and all I can say is that Keaton has what it takes. He is interested in creating timepieces that will be functionally robust but finished to the highest level. His passion for creation is combined with the desire to always improve. Like any watchmaker worth his salt, we spent as much time talking about his tools as we did about the watches.

Currently working on his one in thirty series his production numbers are low and his interest is in quality not quantity.

To say the least the two days were a joy and I look forward to observing from near and far Keaton's progress.

More later.
