TEMPUS WAS INSANE
and I think most people thought I was as well! I couldn't leave the event, and it made much more sense for me to camp in the exhibition area rather than go back home past midnight, every single night!
Didn't the exhibition close at 8 every night, you might ask? Well, I had the wonderful honour of bringing ALL the independant watchmakers out for dinner, and you can imagine what happened after that when food and drink start getting mixed up with watches!
The thank you list is tiring. However, I have to do it.
a) Michael Tay and The Hour Glass - I owe them the best week I've had this year. Yvonne Chua? made the event run so smoothly I could have sworn they've planned this for the better part of the century. Everyone thinks that it was better than Basel and Geneva!
b) Thomas, Tjeng Jaw, Bernard, Theodore and Curtis - the amount of running around they did was past anything that could have been asked of any normal human being. Then again, maybe they're super humans like we think them to be at the first place.
c) The independant watchmakers - WOO HOO - for showing everybody, especially me, what watchmaking is really about - tradition and passion. They are really incredible people not just from the watchmaking perspective but also on a personal level. Roger, Vianney, Mark, Philippe, Thomas, Kees, Volker and Felix, you all have my respect. You are all very lucky to have such nice wives as well!
d) The brands, for putting up such a great collection and for dragging down all their head honchos and more. The artisans, talks, seminars and demonstrations were so so good. Thanks for tolerating all my many many questions too!
e) The people who came along to the guided tours of Tempus I gave - thanks for listening to all my watch blah blah. e-mail me anytime for more watch blah blah!
f) The international purists for sharing their knowledge, jokes and photography 
Alberto Schileo, Azean, Steve Gamble, Daniel Liu, Roger Tsai, Curtis Thompson. At long last I put faces to the nicks! Yes, you all meet the guy with the dumbest nick as well
