The Grand Seiko SBGH035 has also not escaped from the strap experiment-a-thon
As I have recently been documenting, there has been some strap changing experimentation revolving around my Seikos (here for the pterodactyl) and (here for the PADI). And there will be more, when the new strap for the Grand Seiko SBGX097 arrives (hopefully soon).

So the one left for experimentation was the Grand Seiko SBGH035. And while it still sported the original gator on the picture of my favourite watch / car pairing from Japan above, the full shock is to come in the picture below.

So I've probably done the unforgivable and put the SBGH035 on a NATO, too. Before I get flayed and quartered - the drilled lugs mean a return to normality is just a handful of Bergeon twists away
The character of the watch is totally transformed. Starting with a relatively formal piece that can at a stretch dress down, you get a fully casual watch that is far from being at ease with a shirt, let alone suit. At least if you're not Agnelli Senior
At the same time one could now seriously contemplate taking the Hi-Beat for a swim - it does have a 100m WR after all
And the flowery blue & white strap somehow fits the zen pattern white dial and the heat blued seconds hand. Not a combination I will keep permanently but for pushing the boundaries, not bad at all
So, what do you think?
