Team,
After pressing insert a thousand times and by reading ten times more posts from others, here is what I learned so far:
1) The world has some hope and this forum is a clear demonstration
Here, at the PuristsPro, we have a gathering of persons all over this planet and this is a clear demonstration that the world can work and the key for this is to respect how diverse the human kind is and extract lessons from this diversity.
The PuristsPro is an open reunion of people with completely distinct backgrounds, languages, political views, religions, tastes and … it just works because one respects the other.
I believe that the United Nations could learn something here. Something like "peace by respect".
2) PuristsPro is fun
It’s fun to be in a place where we can learn about our passion and also about other places/foods/etc. of this planet.
Here we have a true cultural “happening”, on the good sense, and is great!
3) About watches
Here we can pick our particular tastes and explore other brands that are not part of our immediate focus.
Another great point is to follow how everyone evolves and see his/her tastes changing with time and experience.
Since I started with watches I experienced several transitions by going from fancy watches to my current view that a great watch is the one that you, and only you, feel good about.
On a summary
I’m glad to be here and I’m challenged to name any PuristS that I enjoy reading more than others.
Of course there are “the usual suspects" but everyone knows who they are.
Wrapping up
Since I love to take pictures allow me to show one, to remind us what in general goes inside of a mechanical watch, independent of brand, cost or design.
Cheers and thank you all,
Nilo
