The Ploprof: Everything is Right (or is that Left?) Again>>>

So I was able to source the special calendar wheel specific to the Ploprof that enables the dial to be rotated 180 degrees without issue. And now this legendary diver is back to its proper "righty" configuration (I guess we'll call it that even though the crown is in a traditional "lefty" orientation ):

Not only did I learn that any old cal. 1002 date wheel will not work for the special needs of the Ploprof (thanks to Bill Sohne and others) but my watchmaker was positively effusive about the movement itself. Have to agree with him--this baby is about +2 secs after a week of semi-regular wear and without much thought given to positional correction.

No surprise I suppose when one considers that this caliber is also found in some very fancy De Villes of the period. So not only is the Ploprof the Hummer of dive watches but it truly has the heartbeat of a very high-grade chronometer. A pretty cool combo, IMO.

Best,
T.

P.S. Along with the calendar wheel, I also bought a small mesh extension for the bracelet. If your wrist is over 7", you're going to need it.
