The theme for the WS of the 22nd of April will be ‘New beginnings’
Many of us have accumulated a fair number of watches through our collecting journey, and in parallel experiences of what works for us and what doesn’t, as well as emotional bonds to specific pieces. And many of us are hoarders and our collections a reflection as much of chance and opportunity as of meticulous planning.
The theme for this weekend’s WS is New Beginnings - and what I mean by that is the following. Imagine a thought experiment, where your knowledge and tastes are intact but you currently possess no watch and would only start building a collection from scratch. What would be the first pieces to make it in? Whether you factor in today’s availability and cost level is fully up to you.
Curious to see your entries and if finally you would go for a collection similar to the existing one, or subtly or greatly different.
The WS Thread will be put up on Friday at ca. noon GMT, as usually and run till Sunday evening - likewise as usually.

Since I am only now back to 'high-end' watch collecting after about a decade of abstinence, this one will be rather easy for me to 'drop' into . Cheers, Filip

I like this theme a lot!
If I could go back in time I would purchase the watches I currently own and build from there! 😂. There are some brands I still love today but had squandered many opportunities years ago. Those would certainly have still been in my collection now. If only....
