and then there are watch movements that ARE hand-made.
On a recent visit to Mr.Daniel Roth I was fortunate to see some of the parts he was making for a new Jean Daniel Nicolas tourbillon.

The escapement wheel which is approximately 6mm (1/4")across. Notice the pinion in the center of the wheel.

This is that miniscule pinion - hand carved out of a solid cylinder of steel.

The twin mainspring barrels and the steel rod they came from.
It is nice to see there are still a few watchmakers keeping the traditional skills alive.
