Photography

I thought these came out well--I'm trying to see my pictures with a more painterly eye. My approach to photography is not photojournalism or street, I've found, so I'm trying to refine the perspective that appears to come naturally. Cheers, Daniel Dragonf...  

Be that as having the photos appear as they do in nature (unposed / candid) with attention to crop, background, lighting, etc. -or- develop a style where your compositions come to you naturally (without thinking, spontaneous). "Heron greys" is stark, simp... 

For the first shot, I could get a good sense of the background so that the dragonfly was positioned between the trees and the reflection was lined up. The day was bright and sunny, so the rest was just fortune. For the second I knew the sky would be stark... 

and not to worry too much about what others think of the work... Casey

But close enough. And yes! My hand must have been steadier than the shutter speed, but more importantly, the focus was exact (a more difficult task when I have to use the screen to MF in bright sunlight). Thanks! DJK

that you have found what you like....do and master it. I as well like the BW photo of bird with broken branches....wont be bored staring at it....bravo DJK
