Unloved or Underappreciated?

For many years I wore an 18k YG Day/Date that rarely saw the light of day. Not because of lack of wrist time but because I was careful to wear it under long sleeves with a suit. It was never displayed as an attention getter, more of a secret pleasure, a philosophy I still adhere to today. Once on holiday, I wore it with arms exposed among friends and that was when it made me uncomfortable as it drew too many stares and I decided to sell it. At my AD I looked for a replacement and was shown timepieces from a number of different makers but nothing caught my eye until I was shown a Cellini Time Only. For me the aesthetic of the dial is the most important feature of a timepiece. I admire complications and the technical prowess and artistry that goes into the brilliant timepieces on display here but my tastes run more toward sleek, simple and elegant. These were the reasons I was drawn to the Cellini in RG with the black dial. For me it is the perfect dress watch and I can wear it openly without drawing attention. The size, proportions and understatement are the qualities I most admire.

P.S. I thoroughly enjoy the cordial atmosphere apparent among this community. First and foremost, I find it to be a community of ladies and gentlemen who incidentally share a passion for watches.
