Vacheron Constantin

VC watch exhibition in Taipei and two skeleton VCs you don't want to miss (many pics)!

This past weekend Chung Mei Watch Co., one of the leading watch retailers in Taipei with 5 branches, was having a VC exhibition in collaboration with Vacheron Constantin Taiwan. Once again, I paid my visit this past Thursday and spent quite some time inspecting all the VC timepieces. For the overall impressions of the event, there's a nice write-up by Kevin of Watchbus: http://www.watchbus.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2034#16826

Instead of taking pics from all over, this time I decieded to focus on two very special skeleton VCs. To start off, may I present you the Les Historiques Medicus Squelette Diamonds, a skeleton chronograph with pulsemeter in white gold:

The watch looks absolutely gorgeous in person! I think the diamond bezel and lugs match very well withe the engravings on the dial.

The view from the back, revealing the beauty of Calibre VC 1140SQ:

A close up

This watch basically uses the Malte Chronograph case with square pushers. The crwon is suprisingly big in comparison with other VCs in my opinion.

A closer look of the dial. I think VC's skeleton technique speaks for itself. No further explanation needed!

The skeletonized spring barrel in detail. Notice all the fine engravings on top of the Malte Cross!

As this picture suggests, this watch is a limited edition of 3 watches, exclusively made for collectors in Taiwan. It came with a certificate signed by VC's CEO and a beautiful wooden box.

Although the next watch is not something new this year, I consider this the ultimate masterpiece from VC: Tourbillon Malte Squelette Diamonds in Platinum.

The skeleton work on the dial side is absolutely speechless. There were also two "regular" Matle Tourbillons at the exhibition but this one was by no means my favorite!

The 1790SQ movement, VC's skeleton technique is one of the very best in the watch industry today.

From another angle:

The view of the crown, paved with sparkling diamonds!

The other side of the case, also filled with many "tiny white stones".

I would like to thank Chung Mei Watch Co. for letting me take photos of these two VC masterpieces and share them with you here. I had a great time appreciating the craftsmanship of VC and I hope you will enjoy them as well. Thanks for looking!
