Vianney Halter introduces the Trio

The curtain has now raises over this very awaited watch which features several innovations for the lovers of the unclassifiable style timpieces, imagined and built by Vianney Halter.
The Trio belongs to the ?form watch? category. Its rectangular and curved case contains an automatic movement that has been specially designed for it. One can find on the Trio the elements of the collection Futur Ant?rieur: the dials which are protected by riveted portholes. These are several as on the Antiqua and dispatched, first novelty, onto a rectangular brush finished case (41 x 31 x 9 mm). The main porthole contains the hour and minute hands. These are made of blued steel on a metal dial similar to the one of the Classsic. The second porthole is smaller and located under the first one, slightly shifted to the left. It contains the seconds hand. And last but not least, another novelty in comparison with the already presented prototype, Vianney Halter implemented two holes on the right of the seconds dial to display a Grande Date.
Being announced for several years and furtively presented in 2001 in the form of an unique prototype, the Trio (third element of the Futur Ant?rieur collection, after the Antiqua and the Classic) was a bit of ?L?Arlesienne? of the Manufacture Janvier and, like the heroine of French composer Georges Bizet, it was very much talked about but has never been seen.
Construction details are treated with the same care for excellence as for the other models of the Futur Ant?rieur collection. The rivets are less numerous (total 60 : winding crown (24),
bezels (30), ardillon buckle (6)) but they are machined, polished and implemented with
the same meticuliousity.
The movement of the Trio is in-house, Vianney Halter has developped for this watch the VH 200 movment with 33 jewels. The differents elements are implemented onto a rectangular baseplate designed and built for this model. The bridges also are special manufacturing as well as the Grande Date mechanism. The latter involves more that 50 different elements. It is designed so as to allow quick setting of the date only by acting on the winding crown, although this kind of function usually requires complementary action onto a pusher.
Therefore, the winding crown has 3 positions : winding, date setting, hour setting.
The setting of the date and the one of the hour are made mechanically ind?pendant.
Not only this sophisticated complication makes this Grande Date more convenient, but
it ensures a water and dust enhanced tightness thank to the cancellation of a pusher that became useless.
The automatic winding system also is a module entirely studied and realized at La
Manufacture Janvier.
The Trio, which shall be available starting April 2006 will exist in yellow and rose gold with white gold rivets or and in white gold with YG, RG or WG gold rivets.
