World Time timepieces .....

Hello everyone ..

I know we have talk about word time wrist watches multiple times... But how about World time clocks?

The classic Geochron comes to mind but not easy to acquire or display.

I then came across a few different style and mechanical designed Seikos...

Here is my earliest Seiko World Time and its prequartz,  labeled " Seiko Transistor ".  It has a fast audible tick, and the sweep second hands steps as apposed to sweeps.I think it has a mechanical escapement and runs on a c sized battery... Very modern design!

My next example is a traditional Brass Seiko World Time Quartz marked made in Japan . This one is for placement on a  book case , credenza.  It still has its paper Seiko Quartz label and runs on a AA sized battery.  The Sweep Second sweeps on this and future models of the Seiko World times....

I love the detail of the Jet on the end of the sweep seconds hand !!

The last one I have is a desk model .  The case design which is hard to see from my single photo .  The case is ment to be placed on your desk and the dial is set at a 40 degree angle .  The world time is set from the fluted gold plated plastic bezel. I would think this is one of the later examples as it marked  Made in China.  The sweep seconds tip still as the jet but in red.  It is also hard to see in this photo but shows night and day which the two previous models do not display.  I love the faux mahogany wood grain finish and the gold plated accents.  The hardest thing for my eye to see is the red of the jet plane rotating on the dark background , its a color blind issue  I have.  But also love this clock !!!

These time pieces can be had ( at lest the Quartz driven examples ) without a lot of heavy lifting...  Would also love to see others....

Good Hunting
