Your thoughts, please...
Smack in the middle of SIHH is not a great time to post seeking opinions, but here goes anyway.
This is new to the watchbox. Omega bumper, double signed as a Tiffany piece:
There is precious little available on watches of this kind in the 'usual' reference materials, so hopefully you may be able to add to the small body of knowledge accumulated with the watch.
The case is SS, 32.5mm diameter. Those wonderful 'art deco' numerals are actually mirrored. The minute and second hands touch the tracks perfectly, but are the hands original? The only photo yet discovered of a similar piece (undated) features broad stick hands, not the 'elongated leaf' style here.
The movement is stamped with an 8 digit number commencing 108 and the inside of the case back has a 5 digit series commencing 24 and finishing - 4. Some source materials suggest that this might date the watch to 1945-6, but are those matching numbers?
Any comments on the provenance of the watch or the markings would be gratefully received.
Cheers,
pplater.
