Nice pictures, I like the Vintage Chrono, and also the JLC.
I think the flat case back of the JLC (I have a Reverso Grand Taille) is what makes it appear bigger on the wrist. I tried a Vintage King Size on recently and the curve of the case back and lugs made it sit nicely on my wrist.

As promised, here is my Vintage Chrono, Ref 2599
It is one of the greatest bargins on secondary market, I may say. I tried to capture the curved dial, although it didn't show as well as I would liked. Nice curved case which fits my 6.75" wrist extremely well My only disappointment is with the tang buckl...
