Laureato has been on my list for some time, price now is getting rational. I feel 42mm is a bit big and I like Onyx dial, but only available in 42mm. How about 38mm? would it be too small?

The 38 mm is a “good size” as well. It really depends on your wrist size. I wear 36,38,40,41 and 42 mm laureatos on my 18 cm wrist. What’s your wrist size? 🤝

Did they ever make one without a date that has the same clean look and is not skeletonized or a tourbillon?

Laureato Generation 2 quartz circa 1984 yes. Evo3 (which was generation 4) yes. For non laureato, then yes, there were a few. For example, ref 2499 🤝 ...  

On the 41m.. they should do that on the 42mm
