Hi Ron,
thanks a lot for your impressions!
These are very interesting and much appreciated!
I agree much - the Vintage45 is more a classic and traditional watch with a touch of art deco and a vintage timepiece of 1945 being the "grandpa" of the design. That?s one of the reasons these are my personal favorites across the GP portfolio (for most subjective reasons). The Richeville a more "bold" and modern look which needs the "right wrist" due to the proportions.
To me it sounds like you?re looking for a very legible date, in which case either the Vintage45 ref. 25800 or the Richeville ref. 27600 (both with Big Date/moonphase) may be first choice. For an alternative in steel without the moon, the limited edition ref. 25805 (click here) might be interesting.
My personal recommendation would be to postpone your decision for three weeks, because the new 2006 models are just around the corner. I?d guess there may be something in the line which will fit your wrist and preferences. So getting to know all options and available models might be a good thing and allow for a well-based decision (which doesn?t say there will be replacements for existing models or the current models to be anything else than a clever choice right now).
Greetings from germany,
Peter
