I’ve always wanted a rectangular watch, at first I was drawn to JLC Reverso but never end up buying the watch for some reason. Then I noticed GO from a wrist watch catalogue and the Karree line of watches. I was stunned by the designed of the watch and history of the brand was very unique; hand made in Germany. In 2003, I almost purchase the watch but end up buying a GMT Master II for practical reasons and thinking that I can get the watch another time. (I was not aware the rarity and the hand made quantity of the manufacture)
Late last year I thought that it's time to pick up that fine looking watch since I spend too much money on other hobbies like golf and I’m pretty sure I won’t make the PGA cut this year hitting 90s all the time. When I stop by the AD or all the AD in the area I was unable to locate the time piece. I was a man on a mission, for the last 6 months I traveled to Hong Kong and Japan looking for the watch called Switzerland and finally after combing through eastern seaboard of USA I found the gem in Rhode Island.
I like to thank all the GO members on this forum for sharing their experience such that I was able to make a sound decision to acquire my first GO and special thanks goes to Art (AKA Dr. No) for the insight he gave me before I made the purchase.
In my humble opinion the old Karree is the best designed rectangular watch given the value, function and caliber; one can not go wrong being an owner of an old Karree.
Cheers,
