It's pretty good for a $400 bronze watch.
THOUGH. the big controversy is that Magrette and a few others (helson & benarus I believe) got stiffed by case suppliers and they're actually brass. Hence the different patination.
After a bit of a saga Magrette has decided they can't swap cases, so are selling as 'vintage' brass. Still a great little watch.

The day/date was a really nice, uncommon combo.
Black dial, smooth bezel, on a strap from the factory apparently. Unlikely to ever see one quite like it again. I still think you wear that bronze PAM better than me. I think I'll stick with my MUT. grumio

The Helson Stingray is unaffected by the bronze / brass issue. In fact one batch of Helson Shark Divers was affected and these have all been recalled and replaced with true CuSn8 bronze cases under warranty. I have a second batch Shark Diver and I love it...
