Horological Meandering

My interest was piqued..

The design dates from the end of WW2 and originally used on survival compasses carried by special forces but made of canvas and then used for watches designated A.F.0210. in 17.5mm. The 6B/2617 was the first nylon NATO strap issued in 1954 for the Mk11 navigator watch, the 6B/346.
The ubiquitous grey nylon NATO strap we see today dates from the 70's.
