Independents

Yes a "Top Grade" disassembled & checked - (apparently you should), those chemically blued screws removed, the entire original calendar work removed and replaced with their own annual calendar mechanism and plate - which was designed to use the original fast adjust system (no push pieces).
The addition does not add to the mechanical height of the movement and it was all designed by one guy who incidentally also designed the case (Swiss Made) complete with sleeved pushers and designed the dial (three levels and also Swiss Made). A couple of days of regulation is thrown in. The manufacture watch is done in the Vallee de Joux by a small family firm. Two patents protect the mechanism. All this, and a production level that is tiny - less than most "limited editions".
Compare this watch -the brain child of one person who has a passion for watches - with the design by committee efforts of deep pocketed watch brands to produce a standard 7750 in a model sold by the thousands at the same price level. If that sort of thing brings you pleasure then good - personally I prefer to pay for watchmaking rather than marketing.

Here endith my 2cents worth ; )

PS: I respect the 7750 - a great story behind it, (formerly used by a lot of brands who now sniff at it), robust accurate and reparable. Calabrese has a lot to say on this topic.
