Metals used for JLC wristwatch cases

Can anybody confirm what grade of stainless steel Jager Le Coultre uses for its watch cases and bracelets please? I'm assuming that its 316L, but I haven't been able to find a reliable reference.

Also interested in any data comparing the relative properties of steel vs 18K gold vs platinum. Again, what I have been able to find suggests that high grade steel (such as 316L) is harder (according to the MOHS and Brinell hardness scales) than both 18K gold and platinum, but a reliable reference would be most helpful.

Many thanks
