Did you mean precision maker or imprecision maker? :)))

Honestly I love your projections about this new Duometre, but I have zero informations about this watch. I didn't receive the press releases under embargo for the first time since 2005 about it. So, I will blindly and prudently comment.

The rumor says this new opus will be available at around 80, 000 Euros, taxes included. So, I guess and I hope that for this big jump in price, we'll have a  very interesting, different, innovative ( well a true Jaeger Lecoultre ) watch. and not only the easy combination of a moonphase and a chronograph. You are right about one thing: IF they unveil the Chrono QL, I wonder which barrel will feed what... Without compromising the precision essential to the concept.

Therefore, I hope that in fact, for this kind of price ( circa 80, 000 euros tax included for a steel version ), we'll have a flyback retrograde OR even better, as JLC can do it ( they are not less good than Montblanc and Minerva ) ), a SPLIT SECOND... But on this matter, let's wait before judging.

I don't even mention the platinum version with a retail around 120, 000 Euros, which is very ambitious, or do we become their favorite milked cows???  smile))

Let's wait and see...

Best,

Nicolas

Duomètre : PART II - Future ??? ### !!!

 By: Alfihar : April 7th, 2024-15:55
This topic is based on enthusiasts' wishes, rumors and clues: Despite the Manufacture's inertia, Duomètre enthusiasts have often come up with proposals, to no avail: - Split chronograph; - True second chronograph ; - Quantième perpétuel ; - UTT with black...

I hope they update this line

100k for a chrono, even in platinum makes no sense. That is brand new dato territory.

It would be very odd if they didn't renew this product line, given the teasers...

For the 100 k€ in PT.. It's the Golden Ratio effect ;-) Best Ø

They should do a self winding and maybe use

peripheral rotor like CF Bucherer so as to maintain the aesthetic look of the double barrels. JMO

I think they've already done it with the Hybris Mechanica 11 Minute Repeater... I'll have to check, but if memory serves me right, JLC has already done it...

JLC has been disappointing loyal customers for years

 By: andrea~ : April 7th, 2024-17:27
I hope we won't be disappointed this time. The brand really needs to regain trust, and I don't think a 70k duometre will ever get the job done. It would be nice to see a steel 30-40k duometre (and that's pushing it), anything above is total madness (which...

Unfortunately...

Best Ø

I always loved Duometre line and I have been waiting for some interesting updates

JLC used to be very hard to resist and some models actually were irresistible but lately with the prices hike make it easy to me to pass , anyways I can't wait to see what they are offering but I don't think I'm buying.

I love the Duometre line too... Maybe one of the best JLC line..

 By: Alfihar : April 7th, 2024-17:35
So I'm also going to see what they're offering... and for sure, at 70 k€ without taxes... I'm buying something other than a new Duomètre! Best Ø

Grrrrrr...

A 381 as you notice… but in German silver with 42 jewels and the regulator barrel at a different place…. Photoshop lie or reality… What's interesting, however, is that it has enabled us to discover that the regulator barrel is not in the same place as in ...

I'm told they will release only a few pieces worldwide in both steel and Pt the first year.

 By: Horo_Traveler : April 8th, 2024-00:05
Whether or not they are production limited, the scarcity will ensure these will be sold out almost immediately even at eye watering prices. There are no doubt many such potential clients for whom price is not a consideration. The rest of us will value the...

Unfortunately, this is not untrue...

Manufacturers have now forgotten the enthusiasts - those who enabled them to survive after the quartz crisis, those who contributed to their greatness... But the men who compel their history are condemned to relive it... There comes a time when there will...

As someone who had been so plugged into the Maison is this a step away from true watch connoisseur involvement? Or have you been less involved over time? I wonder if manufacturers have been moving to inform the isntagram generation? I feel this is short s...

Involved ? Inform ??

 By: Alfihar : April 8th, 2024-03:56
I don't know any more of the enthusiasts/connoisseurs that manufactures involve when developing new models. Most of the time, they operate in a vacuum.... And even in-house, those who sometimes have good ideas are silenced. It's in the air of time... They...

Very well said!!!

Yea that's sad

 By: TeutonicCarFan : April 8th, 2024-12:42
Nico said he had typically received press release under embargo for last 19 years but now no longer. Just wonder if that is them not caring about keeping the enthusiast channels informed. Merely now just post on Instagram or whatever is their goal 🤷‍♂️ ...

Depends with who... :)))

What about a Triomètre? that would be novelty!

 By: eklektik : April 8th, 2024-15:32
You should be able to fit a third barrel if you can fit a Spherotourbillon, don't you think? Then you have one barrel per function (time, moon and chrono). Prices for all JLC models are going through the roof for some simple dial colour change, and not mu...

Yep... Disappointing.
