Photos of the JLC/ Rallye des Princesses auto exhibit

The Rallye des Princesses is a vintage car race (cars made after 1974 are not allowed to run) between Paris and Monte Carlo over a 6 day period and only with women drivers.

Jaeger LeCoultre was not only a sponsor of this years race but also had two cars running under their banner, a Porsche 911 and an MG, with the latter being driven by a real princess: Helen of Yugoslavia.

This year the race started on May 23 but the cars were on exhibition on the prestigious Place Vendome the day before, for the occasion and in honor of the Princesses JLC had opened its boutique and had organised a gem setting atelier.

The gem setter was working on a Reverso Neva model. The design is first etched using a CNC machine, then the gem setter gets to work: individually drilling holes as to place the diamonds. We were told that this particular model had a minimum of 590 diamonds and took 3 weeks to complete!
