Accuracy of 1858 Tachymeter
Hi all, For those of you who own the 1858 Tachymeter, how accurate is your piece? Mine seems to be slow close, at 18 seconds a day. That sounds like quite a lot to me. Any thoughts?
When I had it, mine was mostly -24 hours / day.

my green 1858 (caliber 13,21) is at +2 seconds/day
but you have to wear it on the wrist fully winded, not lying on the desk

each watch moves differently depending on the side it is positioned (there are four possibilities obviously). Accuracy can only be measured on the wrist because there the watch is always in different positions. some are faster and some slower - the mixtur...
to add one experience figure:
when the watch is on the desk with dial side up this is in my experience the fastest position (on average 5-10 seconds quicker than on the wrist measured over 24 hours)
that is too much and strange as well
you must get it checked; either with MB or some watchmaker who is able to measure the amplitude. if all parts are technically ok they can regulate it pretty easy by opening the case and using the adjuster

Yes, that is the case indeed (not only with Villeret/Montblanc)
Thus the suggestion is to wind it back to max every morning in case that you wear the watch on a daily basis for some time.
I would wear it for at least three months regularly...
