I bought the 197...before...I understood what a Panerai should have been all about (I was into different watches back then and if you could afford it, you'd buy a gold one) I still have it because I couldn't exchange it for a broken...button. Nobody wants one (trust me). As far as the 309, the I think your valuation is a bit excessive. Maybe that's the market value of the 322 (which is the good looking quasi-twin, with a nice brown dial and only 50 pcs produced, while there are 100x309s out there). One of my favourite Panerai...ever...is a titanium model, but I understand the "need for heft" on the wrist of a Panerista
