5980 question for the Patek experts
I have a 5980 and was thinking of getting a custom strap made for it in place of the bracelet. My question is can the 5980 be fitted with a strap (I've never seen one)? Also, does Patek make their tangs in steel? Thanks. I have a bluish gator strap in mind that I think would really make it pop and give it a slightly less sporty feel without making it a dress watch per se.

Better have a wide strap?
Pull up a picture of a 5712G. It will look funny if the edges of the strap don't match the edges of the case. Just my opinion.

5726 on a strap is ss and has the two linking pieces you would need to attach a strap to the case. I'm not sure whether it's easy to attach those links or whether they would have to be modified. Your AD should be able to help you.
I think the links of the bracelet and the strap are different
And also not sure if the 5726 has the same size required for the 5980 But if it does work then let me knows that be interesting
maybe, if you can somehow get a strap of the 5980r
and follow from there, you will need ss links and ss buckle for it as welll.

support, there is a company in France that make straps but they are not cheap about the same price as patek, but they need an old strap for the plastic supports.
