My favourite Patek perpetual calendar chronograph as it is smaller than most and the movement fills up the case back more completely. Yes it is a little on the thick side but still a marvel in my opinion. Well done on a wise and superb acquisition!!

but I love the open case back of the 3970 and it is a bit more affordable too

shout for attention, understated and all-time classic. Great time to make such an acquisition whilst main attention is focused on the Nautilus'.

This is a reference I’ve thought about a lot. It’s a subtle watch, unlike the modern PPCC which are all supersized and so for the average wrist command (unwanted) attention. This one, will likely fly under most radars. Enjoy it.

I have a lot of love for the 3970 and like the 3rd series watches. They have the faceted indices that catch the light. The 3970 3rd series in yellow gold (to my taste ) is a perfect watch. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!
