I never thought I would say this but after having received the 5990 tonight, The 5711 and 5990 are similar but yet so different. But thats not the point, the point is I didn't think I would prefer the simple, classic line and color of 5711 blue dial to th...  

Interesting to hear you prefer the 5711. I sometimes think about trading my 5980 (black) for the 5990 - maybe a better option is to keep the 5980 and add a 5711.

When you put them side by sidr then you will see more clearly the seriousness of 5711 to 5990

I had a 5711 + the 5980r. I liked the dial effect of the simple dial much more. So I sold the 5980r and bought a 5711r on a strap. Much more enjoyment and comfort. With some extra cash I added a 15202.or as the Genta-bonus!

I wouldnt have sold the 5980r though since it will very likely be out of production next year.

the 2 watches aim at two very different wearing/enjoyment feelings. I have a 5712 and would totally see myself having a 5711 as well. Thus I can even more understand the complementarity of both references. A sportier and usefulness 5990, more spectacular,...

It has complications. So thickness is under standable. To me the 5711 seems more chic and definitely a more handsome watch. But your 5990 is also a chic watch. My opinion. Congrats. Cheers Geross.
