I am guessing RM will handle this like all other watch makers and charge a $500 dollar tune up fee to repair/tune the watch. Things like tarnishing or items that are obviously their fault, they would probably cover for free otherwise the watch would not be able to be sold for retail as it is and as RM wants to keep it. Crushed crystals will be more. Simply not working will probably be in expensive.
I am sure someone out their has had to have their rm 05's repaired under warranty? I had mine repaired in the final 6 months of warranty and Westime said they would warranty it for one year from the day I got it back. BTW, if you ever do repair one, have them trade out the rubber on the crown. This is overlooked and degrades over time. Especially if you are wearing sunblock.
The 16 is sweet, knowing you, you are not going to hold onto it for 2 years anyway and will move on. Go for it
