I bought the last of this model from the AD with a significant discount. They wanted to make room in the display case for the newly released SD 43 and the SD 4000 was considered a dog. How times have changed!

A few thoughts

We will probably never see a 40mm sea-dweller ever again. This represents the best 6 digit Rolex ever in my opinion. 2.5 year production. No cyclops with a fat crystal. Trim lugs. Trim crown guards. Matte dial. Fully graduated bezel. HEV. I get why Rolex ...

This is the best modern Rolex hands down

And I feel that with time, it will be remembered as such more and more. I have also heard from a trusted vintage Rolex watchmaker that in his opinion it is the best Rolex movement ever made.

I agree with many of your points, but something is perplexing

Why do you think the 3135 is more reliable than the 3235? I've honestly never heard any complaints regarding the new calibers.

Good question

You may not have. I’d say, ask RSC, trusted watchmakers (true patina on IG - Greg) etc. Or even your SA at your AD how many have come back with issues. Haha

I tend to agree

Great size for most wrists, no cyclops, beefy without going overboard. I came so close to buying this (and wish I had!) but on my 6.8" wrist, my 16600 is just a little lower key. Love the ceramic bezel, but it is a bit blingier than the old aluminum. Not ...

Yes yes yes

No need to be jelly! Haha thanks!

Very nice minus one detail for me

The date window is not close enough to the edge of the case, IWC get beaten up all the time about it and without the cyclops it looks worse.

Lol

Sure some say movement too small for the case but actually if you pop cyclops off that’s where the date window is. Rolex addressed this a little with the 136660 making it bigger and moving it out… But honestly all brands have issues. Take patek. 5165A was...

Hahhahaha

YESSSS

Agree, when it comes to Sea-Dwellers, this is the best.

The one reason I couldn’t bond with the previous generation(s), was the bracelet and clasp, but this one bought all the improvements under the roof. I foolishly sold mine and one day I’ll add it back, but what a watch… until the I enjoy this two ...

Yes!

Love my 136660 as well. ...
