There is no need to wait to be invited to some restaurant.
Just go downtown, on 2nd st. in the Honda Plaze is a small Japanese restaurant called Ka Ga Ya. they have the most fantastic Shabu Shabu. For those of you unfamiliar with Shabu Shabu, the beef is served raw and thinly sliced and you cook it in boiling water in front of you. Shabu Shabu translates to swish swish, cause that's how you cook the meat. It's also referred to as HOT POT.
The meal comes with appetizers included, soup, dessert. You can choose from 3 different types of beef, ranging in price from $50 to $150.
This is one of those small restaurants where the owner delicately prepares all the appetizers by grinding his own salt, rubbing his own wasabe from the root as opposed to wasabe from powder.
I can't recommend it highly enough. And be sure to make a reservation because the place fills up fast. Also ask to sit at the counter if available. Watching Masa the owner/chef cook is an experience all to it self.
