another day, another airport (27 hours ago). It's often ironically lonely to be a horological road warrior, and evangelist even if PuristS have the advantage of having friends all over the world... A small consolation is to have these micro friends always...
What a great travel companion you have, Thomas! Well, I will have to park in the long term parking space and put some more coins in the meter as I am going away this weekend… HAGWE Blomman...
Fell into my lap for as you use to say “pennies”! I have been keeping an eye out for one, and when this one surfaced I just had to snatch it! Thank you, Graham! Best Blomman
a superb alternative to the highly priced JLC's of the same age and in excellent condition from what i can see in this pic. i notice there are no 'T's' either side of the swiss made, but there is lume. is it pre-tritium or a redial? if it is you wouldnt k...
many thanks Ginger for the pics. the casing looks like some other casing used by Lecoultre. and the movement is correct and it is typical AS caliber. very nice alarm watch in a good condition! best. stefan
Didn’t know this one – very nice! The marking looks like one coin per hour Thank you, Ginger – I really have to start looking outside JLC when it comes to alarm watches! Best Blomman
... and can choose which wrist to look at. The ying and yang watches contribute as well. Covered by a cuff / jacket (as the weather is still cool here) means I don't have to answer the question: "why two watches?". A
Hi Andrew, thanks for your impressive WS, but how on earth did YOU manage to make this photo? Are you in the handy possession of a hidden third arm ? Please elucidate us. Best regards, anaesdoc
With a tripod, time delay on the camera, and a few years of playing "Twister" as a child, anything is possible. Actually a third arm would make a good excuse for another watch! A
'nice' doesnt really describe the pair of them. both at different ends of the spectrum, but matching nonetheless. as you know i nearly always wear 2 watches, just because i have 2 arms. i dont have the problem of people at work thinking i'm odd as others ...
They are 'nice', I have to modestly agree. So different, but they seem to go well together. And it's actually very easy to get used to wearing two watches; there's a certain balance to it. Keep well. Andrew
fairly unique. there are a lot of companies doing single handers now, but the Meistersingers are my favourite due to the sharpness of the hand and ease of reading. they remind me of pressure gauges. best Graham
. . . the aesthetic effect is akin to that of a gauge . . . definitely not your average timekeeper, that's for sure! Was there an acclimation process, or did you instantly take to the unorthodox presentation? . . . curiously, Art
I thought single handers were very unique when I was first exposed to them by Graham for I just had never thought much about them before. This is the one and only I have and Graham reluctantly sold it to me. There was a short acclimation period for I was ...
how stupid am i ? i sold the Meistersinger to Big daddy and havent got around to replacing it yet i'm looking towards a handwind Meistersinger or the Schaumberg Auf-Ab. the things i do for my friends Graham...
. . . that now belongs to mrsnak. Unfortunately, sports / tool / utility watches aren't a consuming interest, and I can only justify owning one. A cal 910 Flightmaster is at the top of the list, followed by a few others, so the Professional isn't in the c...
i found the flightmaster a bit top heavy like the speedy 125 and the MKIII. typical 70's styling i suppose. i prefer the flatter profile of the pro, the sm300 and the railmaster. i know your interests dont lie in that direction which is why i had to ask G...
A nice sunny day today, so I went out for a walk.... Got lost and had to ask someone for help. After admiring my watch she gave me some directions... OK, now I know where I am... HAGWE. Regards, Richard....
Interestingly although we are at different sides of the world, our seasons do not change on the same date. In USA, Autumn starts September 21 I believe. In Australia, Spring starts September 1. Regards, Richard.
ah Richard perhaps i meant solstice not equinox. the solstice is always on the 21st. in the northern hemisphere june 21st is the summer solstice and longest day, winter solstice is dec 21st and shortest day. there are also 2 inbetween to mark spring and a...
Its much easier for us Aussies to remember that our seasons officially change over on the 1st of March, June, September and December than to have to consider equinoxes. Regards, Richard.
Your pictures make me miss Sidney very much - especially now that summer is coming. I hope you are getting inspired by all the recent summer shots! All the best.
I actually ordered the Stowa, but the watchmaker they used to change the Unitas to central second passed away.. and I could not receive my watch. They made a kind of lottery who could purchase..I missed out... It's also not a Laco..though am keen on one.....
i had the laco 55mm 1939 observor watch in my military collection, but its totally unwearable. mine had the original long 'over the jacket sleeve' strap on it so i couldnt have worn it if i'd wanted too. the price of them now is unbelievable. an Archimede...
