Here is my suggestion of the day: A watch I got in the US, thanks to the help of a good friend. Wittnauer Electro Chron. It is up to you, guys. HAGWE. Nicolas....
well-known Bimbeano posted this last Friday : wristscan.watchprosite.com So, this is the second time within two weeks that I see a watch I´ve never seen before! You do not mean to post pics of those watches we rarely wear, but watches that are rarely seen...
We'll try to take a Duo pic of our Beauties. But I think that there are at least two other happy fellows who also own it. It would be fun to see 4 of these same watches in a F.W on the same site, don't you think? Only the Purists can do that. Best, Nicola...
Nicolas, My "not so rare" birds are on the "SPA". Wonderful Wittnauer Electro Chron "bird". It's rare to see one on this conditions. Vlad is wearing a quartz watch? The world will end sooner than 2012! Here are the watches for the week: The two more preci...
In fact, I have two " Electric " watches... A lovely Swatch, with a stretch aluminium and rubber bracelet, which is a Chronograph, and this Witt... Boith being not comparable, of course, the Witt being more complex than a simple quartz watch, with its bal...
as they have such historical significance in Horology and even space travel. funnily enough i know where there is a lovely and original Spaceview that would look good on your wrist i love the hands od the Wittnauer, but i dont know if i want another batte...
It "humms" like a bee and adds the GMT complication. Someday I "capture" my daughter Bulova set and post here. There are some interesting watches there. Cheers
i had 40 tuning forks at one time Nilo including 3 versions of the Astronaut, but all i have left now are 2. a 1960 14kt Alpha and a 1972 original spaceview. the astronaut is great, but very overpriced. G

local time once set, no recalculating required. It also has water resistance to 50M and comes with spare parts! The big manufactures could take a lesson on both fronts. This was a cool idea, lots of very interesting watches this week. Best to all, Tim
Funny how I hate the Date on a watch... Most of the btime, it ruins the beauty, the purity of a dial. Interesting watch, Tim. Will try to see one in the flesh. Thanks for the explanation. Nicolas.
process. It is a light shade of black. I didn't capture the sheen it gives off, really have to see it in the metal. I am still working with my new camera, rookie mistake. Best, Tim
Tahiti was not a city l last time I looked, nor were the Azores. Still a very attractive watch This message has been edited by mrsnak on 2011-07-24 17:52:02
are a few of the other locals on the dial. That is the beauty of a piece "unique", it is up to you. Nice to see you noticed, was waiting for this post. Best to all, Tim
... but one I love for its proportions and legibility. And its quite photogenic as well. Minerva Triple Date Moonphase Chronograph, (Valjoux Cal. 730), 21600vph, 17 jewel, PR 44h, steel, 36x13mm....
I was puzzled by Mr Brossard's one. One of my targets ( the watch, not the watchmaker ), but they are pretty hard to find. Best, and thanks for sharing this beauty, my friend. Nicolas.
… is very elegant. The Valjoux Cal. 88 was used by a range of manufactures including Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, Breguet, JLC, Breitling (Wakmann), Heuer, Record and Ulysse Nardin, so there is a definite family resemblance. It would be nice to get t...
… you thought I was one sided?! I may be perseverating on F.P.Journe, but there was a horological learning curve before then. I will try and give those watches some light. J Andrew
Each time I see one, I think that it is unwearable, and each time I put it on the wrist, it is the same surprise. Lovely monster. HAGWE, my friend. Nicolas.
. . . its massive proportions . . . . . . evaporate on the wrist. I attribute this to the asymmetric shape with a blend of obtuse angles and parallel edges in conjunction with the unique plinth and turret construction. It's so odd that it "works", even on...
These thin markers make all the difference with the modern. That is a stunning catch, Jeff. It will perfectly go with your Porsche. HAGWE, my friend. Nicolas.
This watch really has something special, a very special blend of sporty elegance and retro feeling...really unique! Now you need the cufflinks to go with it! Matt
Then this my contribution for this Friday. A Wittnauer Weems from about 1940, that was used by flying freedom fighter during WWII URL=http://forumbilder.se] [/URL] HAGWE Anders...
I own its JLC Cousin, don't wear it a lot, but each time I do, it is with great pleasure. And the History behind is the cherry on the cake. Superb. HAGWE, Nicolas.
I have searched online and found some info on it. Quite interesting I must say. "The wearer would rotate the movable bezel, keeping the 60-second mark over the sweep seconds hand, until a minute tone was broadcast over the airplane’s radio (Greenwich Civi...
