Hi Geo You're a true blue Cartier man indeed! Just got back from Bangkok ,the armoured vehicles and carnage on the streets remind me of this watch which I will wear today:...
Not quite Juilan Its actually a crushed version of the baignoire elongee watch. Perhaps Geo our CARTIER man can give you a better insight into the origins of this one.
i got this last saturday after a lengthy hunt through the piles of dross for the correct model, a 1964 Omega seamaster 300 165.024-64. i've put a new strap on it, a Hirsch Liberty in honey to match the lume whilst the accented stitching matches the bezel ...

I'm very glad you liked it. What do you think about the bracelet? A less common look for the watch, but I think it still captures the essence of the era and of the watch. Will post this weekend, once I have a little more time. Have a great weekend! Abrazo...
As you know it, the Pola came with a SS bracelet, and a Tropic strap. We don't often see the SS bracelet for a Pola, indeed, but yes, I love this combo. Hope to be able to sse it ( and you ) in the flesh during you European Tour..LOL Best, Nicolas
It will for sure be on my wrist on it's "back to origins" tour. I will PM you the details of my visit to set something up. Have a great Saturday, Nico. Abrazo, Alex
