Close, but no cigar ...
Hi Art, always lovely to see this watch, and it was a privilege to wear it for a few minutes.
As you have always said, it is surprisingly difficult to capture all the aspects of the dial, markers and hands with a balance that reflects reality. This is perhaps the closest I got to it at the July Purist BBQ in LA.
However, it’s also this multiple personality syndrome that makes the watch so compelling.

another day, another airport (27 hours ago). It's often ironically lonely to be a horological road warrior, and evangelist even if PuristS have the advantage of having friends all over the world... A small consolation is to have these micro friends always...

It is hard to tell a cal 1475 from the successor cal 1930, but I think this is the earlier caliber....

With a tripod, time delay on the camera, and a few years of playing "Twister" as a child, anything is possible. Actually a third arm would make a good excuse for another watch! A

'nice' doesnt really describe the pair of them. both at different ends of the spectrum, but matching nonetheless. as you know i nearly always wear 2 watches, just because i have 2 arms. i dont have the problem of people at work thinking i'm odd as others ...

I toyed with picking up a Perigraph (I think that's what their model is called) that has the single hand display and rotating date disc. Cheers, Daos
have you seen their chrono Daos. a single hander with chrono function
fairly unique. there are a lot of companies doing single handers now, but the Meistersingers are my favourite due to the sharpness of the hand and ease of reading. they remind me of pressure gauges. best Graham

I actually ordered the Stowa, but the watchmaker they used to change the Unitas to central second passed away.. and I could not receive my watch. They made a kind of lottery who could purchase..I missed out... It's also not a Laco..though am keen on one.....
i had the laco 55mm...
i had the laco 55mm 1939 observor watch in my military collection, but its totally unwearable. mine had the original long 'over the jacket sleeve' strap on it so i couldnt have worn it if i'd wanted too. the price of them now is unbelievable. an Archimede...
