Hello Mike! Beautiful watch and very interesting story behind it to open this week end WS edition! ...
... I will play this week end with an Omega watch which I feel is highly underestimated by collectors of the brand.
As a matter of fact its close relative is a highly regarded timepiece, almost an object of cult among collectors but this one is so far from the fame of the Moon Watch in spite of the fact that it got its own merits:
This bulky and funky Speedy was launched in 1973 to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the founding of the brand. It was the first Chronograph with cronometer rating of the brand and with an automatic movement for this combination to boot. It was a limited edition of only 2000 examples.
These characteristics seem to be not enough to make it an special timepiece and a landmark in the Omega History to make it a coveted piece for the fans of the brand.
I bought this example a few years ago in an almost unused condition.

And its sister brand JR are both under appreciated. That is why you can still find some charming examples ...perhaps this was a bad theme and now there will be a demand 😊😊

Had a GP Laureato 8010, but sold it because of the delicate bracelet and their soft screws... Regretted selling the moment I sold the watch. Now, they are near impossible to find, and much more expensive with the intro of the new models... TT ...

IWC Novecento Perpetual Calendar
Much underappreciated and one of the best value Perpetual Calendars around. This watch came with the IWC Calendar Module from the great Kurt Klaus. The first model used the Frederique Piguet calibre 32061 (1987-1985) and after that the JLC 96061 (1995 - 2...
Same basic calendar setup as all the IWC perpetuals of the era, only in a nifty and beautiful case

I have a "vintage" svend andersen perpetual that doesnt have a leap year indication. When I asked mr. Anderson about this he said it was a very easy fix...leave it on the winder that came with the watch insert Have a good weekend, Mike

I was in love with the Platinum. At that time I owned a time-only YG Novecento. It was a great watch. Congrats for making the move.

... with so many different angles to it - let me try to express my own spin to it. One thought prior to sharing my entry... any watch, that's sitting in a safe or vault, still wrapped in it's protective stickers, happens to be under appreciated by its own...
