WristScan

I think I have posted this story before but here goes

I first learned about this watch about 10 years ago when the owner disclosed to me he had a pristine daytona in his safe. Not sure of the reference but hardly worn

Are you interested in selling? I asked

Make me an offer he countered- Jeez I hate that

I made him a very generous offer ...

I'll think about , he replied

10 years later I heard nothing about the watch

Is the watch still for sale

Yes he said

Make me an offer!
And I did again - obviously much much higher than the initial one 10 years previously

His interest was piqued BUT - now he wanted to keep it for one of his sons... blah blah blah

Let me know if you change your mind- thinking this was a waste of time

We meet and speak about the watch but nothing comes of it

Just before the Ultimatum sale in Nov when interest  in these pieces is at an all time high ( and prices!!) , he approaches me to say he is selling

Numders are discussed but no final decision is made until I get a text with a number ( from him - it wa almost a telephone number it was so large but I knew it related to the daytona) No words just a number

It took me 2 milliseconds to agree

I waited 24 for a response-: its yours"

Still not feeling confident , I get a pic of the watch - - taken with a iPhone

Looks promising

We meet for lunch

I leave with this my wrist

I know it has the wrong bezel for a 6265 But

I also leave with this

Which also includes the original bezel, so.....

The watch now looks like this
