It's been seventeen years and two days . . .
. . . since my first post on The Purists. I was in my third year of collecting Glashütte Original then, accumulating seven over the course of six years.
As of a month ago, they're all gone. It's as though a chapter of my life has closed.
The cause was a change in station. My interest in G O was rooted in a fascination for the arguably single most useful complication horology offers, the perpetual calendar. My sense then and now is that G O perpetuals are the most elegantly conceived and reliably executed that a person of ordinary means could aspire to owning.
This is the watch that started me on the path.

It was the last to go. With regret, and not a little sadness.
Cordially,
Art
