Graham, Having been an expat in Russia a few years ago I know a bit about Russian watches. here is an example that I think could qualify for the "chic" chapter and that can transfer to occidental tastes. Actually the model is called Nautilus!...The brand is quite confidential but to me is the most transferable Russian watches for Western world tastes in the fact that the design is modern, somehow different but not too Rusian. . They use either Poljot movements made on old ETA machines from the 70s, or ETA movements. You can check out their web site www.denissov.ru , I just checked it for you, it is being renewed just now so the English version is not active at the moment so you need to navigate on the Russian site which is quite exotic when you can't read Russian! but it is fun as well...there are also other commercial sites selling russian watches on line. PM me if you need more precise info. HAGWE
Matt
