Only ice may still help chilling here!

Hi Robin,

as you see I followed your ´watch and drink´ theme: a vintage Omega Seamaster DeVille and a Coke with lots of ice cubes - my modest version of your Patek Nautilus and champagne.
We presently have an unusually hot summer weather here, temperatures going up to 35-38°C (95-100 °F). There are no other remedies than cool drinks, shade and rest. The cellar gets an unaccustomed appeal as it is comfortly cool down there. Although I am a true watch enthusiast under normal weather conditions, I now often chose to take off my watch under these circumstances as it will readily promote sweating on the wrist otherwise. So in the literal sense of the word there is no chilling watch for me right now smile.

On the other hand I must admit I do not have a particular watch that signifies relaxation for me (BTW, an anaesthetist´s thoughts may go astray when he hears "relaxation" smile). As I am not allowed to wear watches at work for hygienic reasons I can only do so afterwards. So any watch on my wrist signifies some degree of relaxation to me as I am off work then.
On Sundays I may wear a watch with a case of precious metal, but that would be a sort of ´festive´ watch - maybe a topic for another WS thread.

Hope you and all purists stay or get chilled this weekend!

My best regards
