Superb watch to open this week end W/S Mike!...
... Let me say I love new watches inspired in vintage classic models.
I got a few favorites in my collection, which I will gladly show here:
Speedmaster: modern version in a special edition with brown dial
Same Speedy in another shot which proves that this design is timeless...
I surely would love to own the vintage one, but this tribute with its 38 mm case is a very nice approach!
Zenith El Primero Original 1969 tribute while driving from my office to home...

WristScan for 9/16/2016 starts now: Modern watches with a Vintage twist!
Now that I am back in school the budget is a little tight. But I fell in love with this modern interpretation of a vintage model released by Bulova in the 1950's. A generic automatic Sellita movement but so far + 4 sec per day on the wrist. I love the app...

It has to be a GP with "Vintage" in the name
and then it can only be the Vintage 1945. What I really like is how GP took the original 1940ies design and modernised it without adding any faux patina. Over the years since the release in 1995, the case size has increased but it is done in a very clever...
CC, did the original also have a curved case back?
I once owned an example of the Vintage 1945...in retrospect, it was the most comfortable watch that I've worn. Best, Mike
Hi Mike, if I recall correctly
the case back of the original is a snap-on caseback and not curved but the overall case shape is curved like in the modern incarnation. CC
Thanks, I have a vintage Gruen Curvex from the 40's
with a curved back but I didn't know if any other manufactures at the time was implementing it as well. What an optical illusion on the original GP though....it really looked like it did. Thanks, Mike

The re-edition is very close to the original
I do like the newer proportions and the curved case a whole lot, and the comfort on the wrist is top notch

Mike, Great and easy, for me that I'm fanatic about reeditions, theme. 1) Omega Speedmaster '57 9300 "Vintage". Pure joy on my wrist. Notice the "sandwich" dial. Even in B&W, it looks and is very cool. 2) Omega Seamaster 300m Titanium 3) The recent CK...
When it comes to honoring the past . . .
. . . it's hard to envision any manufacturer having a deeper commitment than Omega. This year's CK2998 is a good example. Faithful in most respects except color pattern, yet unmistakeably a Speedmaster. Art

Absolutely stunning piece and when you get it side by side with the Speedy you really appreciate the quality of the Rolex....every detail is just perfection. Do you have a favourite between the 2..? Andy.
I guess I am biased with the Speedy since I also own a version but I've

Actually I was thinking about the GS line when I came up with the theme but I don't have one with me now in Pennsylvania. I love all the polished surfaces on the hands and indicies. Cheers, Mike
