You are right, the specs I have show the Cartier at 5.1mm and the Octo at 5.15. For all that extra height you do get an extra hand and an automatic movement. I will say the Tank Louis feels thinner on my wrist, in good part due to the strap versus the amazing bracelet on the Octo. Two very different experiences.

Agree with you that 9 mm is a surprising thickness considering the present trends to bigger and thicker watches. And that size includes a domed glass!! Also diameter was much contained at around 34/35 mm though there are exceptions of course. The JLC Trip...
