Just classic in its case, dial and proportions. It doesn't come much more perfect (apart from a '60's Constellation, but we are all allowed our biases!).
Inspired by Nicolas post about the European GTG.... a purist watch today.... not my photo (credit to Nicolas I think) a friendship watch... HAGWE Cheers...
you should reconsider my friend.... and wear the Paris edition..... No. 7 should do likewise..... Cheers ps re-reading this it does sound like Spektre... lol
The front, far, light, dial, outer, presentation side of the Grande Date is at least as tempting as the back, near, dark, movement, hidden one. Thank you, Andrew, for the pictures! Best, Martin
Thanks Stefan, As you can see from the date, I wound this last Sunday in preparation for the week. It has been a while since I wore the GD and I had forgotten what a pleasure it is to wear a long power reserve watch. The RdM is icing on the cake as it acc...
A very simple, or should I say pedestrian, watch, but I love the 70s look and the pseudo compressor case: Don't know why but looks better on a 70's style B/W. Cheers to all, Nilo...
Nicolas, I use the term "pseudo" because there is, I believe but I will double check, no "helmet" on the case back. As far I know, the "compressor" case derives from a patent made by Ervin Piquerez, that was licensed to some companies (JLC, Longines, Enic...
it has IMO the right to sit in amongst any collection of supercompressors. probably more right than my UG Polerouter which is a single crown supercompressor with all the correct Brevet numbers for EPSA. great pic as well BTW. best Graham
It has been used by so many brands ( around 20 different brands ) that I don't swee why Tissot didn't use it... It really looks like a Super Compressor case. Would be interested to see the inside part of the case back... Best, Nicolas
Nicolas, You were 110% correct, one more time. Stopped by my watchmaker and had the Tissot open: Now I have a true compressor case. Is not a Polaris but ... it's cool and I'm looking this watch with another eyes. Notice that the case back is "bayonet styl...
Nilo, i dont think that little 'diver' symbol on the inside represents EPSA. i've seen a number of watches including standard Omega seamasters with that symbol. i think it just symbolises a water resistant watch. to find tissot production dates google Tis...
... here is a pic of inside caseback of my Fortis, you can clearly see the "Super Compressor" logo and words and also other words like "Brevet..." . as Graham said, the small logo appeared on the inside caseback of your watch can be found in my many Omega...
Nilo, it may not be an EPSA super compressor, but it is still the same in essence. a double crown dive watch with internal rotating bezel. lovely watch whoever made the case. best Graham
recently, i got one Fortis Marinemaster which also has two crowns, the caseback of mine looks very similar as yours that also has a big something like marine logo. i don't have tool to open the caseback, but according to the photos provided by the seller,...
Too late for the roll-call but just in time for mid-night and a first wrist shot. Have a great weekend everyone. This message has been edited by Nomer on 2010-05-13 16:51:35...
Hi Arthur, Nice to see your new Pam. As another non-Pam fan, I seem to find myself looking at Panerai's every few months and trying some on. Perhaps I am late to the 'party', but there is still something that draws me to these watches. Unlike you, however...
well for me, there isn;t a right PAM as frankly, they all look rather the same for me. How did I end up with the 326? Well, I don't bother with the movement for PAMs because there isn't much to bother about for "Pam" movements. SO its down aesthetics...no...
... concept and execution. Nice Omega too. Much appreciated. Andrew [edited for speling ) This message has been edited by AndrewD on 2010-05-14 17:06:55
...is the twenty-fourth letter of the Greek alphabet, you might have thought that it would be disallowable under Scrabble rules as a 'foreign word' ['foreign letter'???], wouldn't you? Not so, apparently: at least, not according to the nifty online word c...
One of my first mechanical watches....a Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Calendrier Retrograde and I love to wear it! Y'all have a great weekend, you hear?...
Could it be this one - the Opus hasn't been out for awhile ... No. Um, Oris? Sinn? Rolex? IWC, UN, Seiko? Stowa, how about the Stowa. No, just wore it a few days ago. Purists ABR? Swatch? Breitling? MIH? Sheesh. Too many choices. I think I'll stick with o...
I thought of posting a picture of this (new) old marvel on the Omega forum but then realised that Art would be equally happy if I posted here. photo credit of previous owner. hagw...
... sweet torture for the weekend. But what better than to see real life watches on real live wrists. Certainly focuses the mind on what is desirable. A
The problem is to stay focused – so many awesome watches around! My mind is racing in many different directions after seeing a Friday WS-show! Best Blomman
