When I started collecting my interest was mainly in complications, hence . . .
. . . the predilection for Glashütte Original. But on a subliminal level, chronometry was the more compelling attraction. That's why I credit Steve G with having considerable influence on my collection: his site wove together a whole cloth from strands that would otherwise not have been coherent.
The other influence, more in the realm of substance than style, is Bill Sohne, our first Omega forum moderator. I learned far more from him, as well as other Omega collectors that habituated our forum in its infancy, than from reading forums and print books.
Both are still sources of information and inspiration to this day.

You are right Shemmir. That is really the first Connery/Bond watch. Not easy to identify during the first scenes of Dr No but there it was before his Submariner was evident later.

Lighter I bought earlier this year. I was just fixing shoes at the cobbler and noticed he sold this Zippo 007 too. I’m very happy with the trimetal. Will try to put it on a rubber strap in a couple of days time. Have a good day Nico.
