... not to mention I love the watch you show!
My travel watch has almost always been a Submariner (1680 or 14060M), a watch I find tough and reliable. A watch I had always loved!
If my travel takes me to a diving destination I have with it the adequate watch. In any case, it has never failed to me in any place I´ve been.
Surely I got more appropiate travel watches: e.g. the Rolex GMT or the GP World Time, but for some reason when I have to take a watch for a new trip my hand goes for my Subs!

I can't confirm that supposition, Nicolas. I've seen images . . .
. . . of various 'slash' iterations with both US Army engraving and without. Mine is a /5 without the engraving, but there are examples with the engraving, too. What I'd really like to discover are the terms of the contract signed between the US governmen...
The guys at MWR said that they never saw a / 5 issued for the US Army.

When I first started collecting vintage Omega . . .
. . . many years ago, only the best examples would do; a flawed specimen like this would've been rejected. Now, I've come to appreciate character almost as much as condition. And need I say, I really, really like this watch.

The Seamaster and the UN Dual Time...both for the ease of setting the time when crossing time zones and both with a good degree of water resistance just in case :-) ...
I've been fan of that version of the Dual Time for many years.
