Rightly so, for me too.
The size (40mm), the look (no date), the superb manual wind Venus 178, the applied gilded logo, the glossy black dial with the beaded bezel. It's also the first generation, I think.

That is an interesting discussion we may have. The most famous, certainly.
But the greatest design... I don't know. There were some great treasures, such as the Superocean first generation, time only or chrono, and the Unitime, too. The Chronomat was quite appealing, also.
