I started the day early with my Ollech & Wajs MP2801
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Taille tonight
Ollech & Wajs were established in 1956 by Albert Wajs and Joseph Ollech. They mainly made divers and pilotwatches, not very expencive, but with relable robust movements. O&W closed down about 1980.
In 1979 Albert Wajs bought 500 cases and parts from Willy Breitling and started making a watch called Aviation based on genuine Breitling parts. In 1990 he restarted Ollech & Wajs.
A year ago I sent my Breitling in for a full service and "needed" an everyday watch in its absence, with O&W "related" to Breitling, I felt that the MP was the right choice.
I like the O&W because it's a "back to basic" watch with a simple handwound ETA 2801 movement, it's a small family owned brand, it's 100% swiss made and it costed me 1/30 of what I paid for the JLC.

With thanks to Daos for the Transformers tag line.
Have been enjoying this fast-ticking Longines from the late 1960's all week.

Thanks Art,
I have a short-list of vintage pieces I keep my eye out for, but this Longines was an unexpected find. It was an immediate attraction though when I got that tingly feeling that this was something I could enjoy.
One of the nicest things about it, which I cannot really capture in the images, is that the polished facets catch the light and give some life and sparkle to the dial.
This has also been an opportunity to learn more about the brand and some of its’ rich history. I am looking forward to seeing more Longines here.
Regards
Andrew
Thanks LVT,
I am very impressed with this. It is channelling some of the rawness in design of the early Journe tourbillons but is beautifully finished. You are going to have to show us many more photos of this.
Thanks again!
Andrew

I have also admired PSM’s work, but very few models/versions have actually sparked that feeling of wanting to own it one day.
This tourbillon is in a whole other category. Still not certain about the crown, although it is an obvious signature for that case. But then I don’t warm to onion crowns either, except on pocket watches.
This is very yummy, though. No doubt about it.

... but the moonphase has been a long time favourite and you captured it beautifully. Nice shirt too. It is a rose gold case?
