Unfortunately not my car, but a nice example of the 100/6 from 1957. 2.6 litre overhead cam 6-cylinder engine with twin SU sidedraft carbies. Good for 102HP.

No more room in my garage, but perhaps when the kids are grown ...

i must admit i'm not familiar with the 100/6 2.6l. i thought they were all 3000cc, but it was a bit before my time.

Hi Graham,

The 100/6 was made between 1956 and 1959 and preceded the 3000 (1959 - 1967). The 100 was so named because it could reach 100mph, one of only a handful of cars that could achieve 'the ton' in those days. The 3000 had a 3 litre engine.

Great British sports cars.

I have always loved the two-tone painting on these, and the whole package is just soo "British sports car". Not too hooked on the "pink boob job" on this particular car though

I am sorry, but this is not the one matching with your Tornek!!!!!! ;-)
This one is made of brass painted olive drab and is from the Waltham Clock Company. (W.C.Co)
Yours has an aluminium case, same size like the Waltham but with larger borders and it is manufactured by Stocker and Yale.
Stocker and Yale (SandY) model Cammenga J582.
You can still buy this tritium wrist compass in new, but I am chasing an vintage one for you of course!!!!!
It is much harder to find then I expected :-((((

The Benrus is very, very hard to get, especiallly in all original condition!!!
I have seen so many in the past with replaced crowns, replaced hands or replaced lugs, that it is really a pity!!

Take good care if you go for one! The special domed glass must be in good condition too, because you can't get an replacement one which looks similiar!

IMO there is no other watch following the "form follows function" as good as the Benrus Type 1. The Benrus has all to become a true collectors!!
It was the best watch ever issued for the US army, and now there exist only a few one's in perfect condition! That's why the prices are exploding more and more!
