I don't have worry if it is wound or if I overset it. Don't ask me though what happens when the battery runs down. HAGWE!

dial layout?

I really like it, easy to read and symmetrical.  I wonder if it can be done mechanically but something makes me think that an engineering solution doesn't exist.

Is that the brand name just below the 1 oclock position?

Mike, it is actually a Timex, TX was their short lived premium brand.

i'm not sure the first one will be considered a quartz watch but here it is anyway

and even this one doesnt really have a battery as such, just a solar power source.

i used to have quite a few such as Omega marine Chronometer and a few others, but they have long gone and these are what i am left with.

.. Accutron...  Too famous to forget!

funnily enough MrSnak has the same model citizen. the sound is pretty good and its a decent well made watch for the price, especially if you buy it discontinued when its even cheaper :)

the accutron is not technically quartz, but one of the best battery operated watches ever made in my opinion.

I believe the Shellman Minute repeater uses the "same" Citizen minute repeater technology...mine powered by battery, yours by sunlight

i also think that the Camponala uses the same movement but with refined sound for the repeater.
i first discovered this watch in 2008 when my mate was interested in it. as he was fitting my kitchen at the time i bought it for him in  lieu of payment and was very impressed. his was the white black version. it took me until last summer finally bite the bullet and get one myself, loved the blue dial and managed to get it for 50% of retail.
that sounds like a brilliant watch to me :)

I'm out at my uncle's place checking out the spring crops

I love this Omega on its chain mail bracelet. It's even kept time to the exact second for the last year (because it's no longer running :-(  

Should be an easy fix?

It would be sad to let such a watch sit "dead" in its box.

Spring crop looks like its getting a good start...the weather here has been really bad (I'd use other adjectives but I'm afraid another mod would edit them out )

I will do my humble very best to match that topic somehow..

Thus first a skeleton.. - one can appreciate the dynamic of the moment, the
transparency of the body..

- Number two actually is my dear wife's WG/ss Reverso / Quartz, which she has
actually as one of her daily beaters, since 1996 (!);
Never wrong, never failed, always there.. just a couple batteries for 28 years .

Only after years she became more interested in mechanical watches,
and owns several, meanwhile:
- Thus, the 2nd pic - my photo, her watch..

- And number three is my only electronic watch.. - A bit futuristic (?)

Thus, from skeleton to the future - hope you liked it a little bit

.. well, excellent choices!  Once upon a time, brands rushed to make quartz watches or other battery based watches - time flies!

In general, women prefer dependable and easily maintained things...like us simple minded men.

and in general men like complicated and sometimes finicky things (look at our facination with watches, cars, gadgets)...like the women we are with

But I have a few GS mechanicals already in the stable so having some diversity led me to purchase the Citizen as my "reference" watch.
