As I understand it the original 2012 platinum 5711 piece is designated 5711/1P-010. The 40th version of the platinum 5711 is designated 5711/1P-001. The difference between the two watches simply being the dial variation designation 010 for the original and 001 for the 40th version - just as the blue face 5711/1A is 5711/1A-010 and the white face is 5711/1A-011.
What is interesting is that from my limited understanding of Patek the 001 version would normally appear before the 010 version. For instance the 5131R in 2015 was 5131R-001, in 2016 it was 5131R-010 and in 2017 it is 5131R-011 - each version receiving an updated city dial. Indeed checking the model designation of the 2006 introduction of 5711/1A shows it was designated 5711/1A-001 and I believe had a slightly different blue dial colour compared to the current version - the current blue dial being designated 010.
So was the 40th model dial designation of 001 actually reserved before the original 2012 platinum model 010 was introduced?
